Jammu, Dec 07 : State Election Commissioner (SEC) Ok Ok Sharma Monday mentioned that the fourth section of ensuing District Improvement Council (DDC) polls in J&Ok recorded 50.08 p.c voting whereas no untoward incident was reported anyplace within the UT.
Addressing a press convention in Jammu, Sharma mentioned that 1916 polling stations have been arrange for the phase-Four of the DDC polls throughout J&Ok and that 364527 voters exercised their proper to vote.
“People in large numbers came out to vote in J&K. In total, 34 constituencies went to polls—17 each in Kashmir and Jammu,” Sharma mentioned.
He mentioned that section one of many DDC polls recorded 50.three p.c voting, second section witnessed 48.02 voting. “Today in Jammu region, Poonch district of Jammu topped in the voting percentage at 70.42 percent while in Kashmir Ganderbal district topped with the total polling percentage at 56.28 percent,” the SEC mentioned.
